Inaugaration Ceremony of 220MW Piguli Hydel Power Project.

The SCEPL PIGULI Hydroelectric Power Plant is a run-of-river power plant on the Alaknanda River just upstream of Chamoli in Uttarakhand. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power generation and navigation. It is the second dam by Sidhcon and creates a large reservoir on the river. The dam has an associated lock and a power station with an installed capacity of 220 megawatts. Construction on the dam began in May 2007, the reservoir began to fill in October 2012, the last generator was commissioned in 2014 and the dam and power plant were inaugurated in 2016.It is operated by SIDHCON SCEPL.A formal inaugaration is being held at ITC Maratha,at Mumbai on May 29th 2017.

 

Construction of Tunnel for the T124-K balance work at north portal.

SCEPL awarded Construction of Tunnel for the T124-K balance work at north portal from km 137/955 to km 142/915 (approximate) in Uttarakhand. Civil works for 461.64 m of headrace tunnel on the left bank, river diversion works, a 43.2 m cut-and-cover section of the headrace tunnel, a 691.9 m-long construction adit and spill tunnel on the left bank, a 15,882 m headrace tunnel on the right bank, a 215 m-long diversion tunnel and D-shaped adit to the headrace tunnel and their plugs including provision of vehicular gates in one of the adits. SCEPL also awarded civil works for 1,168 m of headrace tunnel on the right bank, a surge shaft, pressure shafts, a valve house, a power house complex, a tailrace tunnel including its outfall structure, adits, river protection works and hydro mechanical works. Contract value approx. ₹ 203.45 Crore .
